Tom Murray is a freelance film-maker, writer, and broadcaster. A graduate in Politics and Geography from Sydney University, Australia, his debut documentary film Dhakiyarr vs the King won the 2004 Dendy Awards Most Outstanding Film prize at the Sydney Film Festival, the NSW Premiers Audio-Visual Prize, and Official Selections at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival, Chicago International Documentary Festival, Jerusalem Film Festival and many others.
 
Tom is a partner in the POND film collective in Sydney, Australia. He has made short drama films, educational films, and taught Environmental Geography at the University of New South Wales, Australia. He is an experienced radio producer and has made documentaries in some of the most remote areas of Australia and East Indonesia.
